When you hear “senior housing,” do you think of beautiful, convenient, or high-efficiency buildings? Seniors have specific needs and specific limitations and we needed to design with an eye toward those concepts as well as the fact that, for many residents, their home needs to be able to grow easier and more accommodating with each passing year. This took a tremendous amount of research and care on our part to make sure that the elders of Goshen, MA could live in dignity and comfort.
Austin Design worked with the Hilltown Community Development Corporation (CDC) to create this comfortable, bright and airy, rural project within the village. The newest member of the CDC’s housing mission, Highland Village Circle (as it is named) consists of 10 single-floor one-bedroom apartments, including one fully-accessible unit. The apartments are available for income-eligible seniors aged 62+.

The senior housing project is very attractive and has received numerous positive comments from townspeople, passersby, and residents of the apartments.
